Embrace your inner rock star with these styles created by Antoinette Beenders for Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

 
“The look of the moment is all about rock n’ roll hair,” said Aveda Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders who created rocker girl hair for the showing of the Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2016 Collection this week.

Long locks with a “fluffy little kink” in the hair, alongside fan-girl curls took over the show held at the world’s largest independent record store, Amoeba Music, on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

For the curls, Antoinette said, “I wanted to create a soft and fluffy curly style that was rocker chic, but definitely not crunchy and hard. With Be Curly™ Style-Prep™ and a simple twist set technique, we were able to form touchable, flirty curls that would hold up all night.”

Here, Antoinette reveals how to look rock n’ roll chic.

FAN-GIRL CURLS: Steps To The Look



Step 1: Using a water bottle, spray down entire head and work water into the hair with hands to ensure all coils are damp.

Step 2: Apply Be Curly™ Style-Prep™ to the palm of hands, rub hands together and gently massage product into the hair to add moisture and curl definition.

Step 3: Twist small sections of curls around finger all over the head to set the curl.

Step 4: Once all curls are set, flip head over and blow-dry using a diffuser. Once completely dry let hair sit for approximately 10 minutes.

Step 5: Use a wide tooth comb to gently brush out curls until desired fluffiness and bounce is reached.

Step 6: Finish with a with a misting of Be Curly™ Curl Enhancing Hair Spray to lock in curl with all day frizz control.



LONG & KINKY: STEPS TO THE LOOK

Step 1: Prep towel-dried hair with new Thickening Tonic.

Step 2: Spray thoroughly from roots to ends, in sections and comb through to distribute evenly.

Step 3: Blow-dry hair with hands using a nozzle to direct the air up in each section.

Step 4: Once hair is dry, loosely wrap sections of hair around a 1” curling iron all around the head starting at eye level.

Step 5: Pull and twist each curl from the bottom to create more of a lived in and looser bend in the hair.

Step 6: Generously apply Shampure™ Dry Shampoo throughout the hair especially under the roots and crown to create a matte look.

Step 7: Tousle and fluff the full head of hair with fingers to shape.

“With a couple of quick poofs of Shampure™ Dry Shampoo we were able to absorb excess oils and lift them away from the models’ hair,” Antoinette said. “It adds a lived in, fluffed up and flirty feel to the overall style. I’m not sure how I ever managed backstage without it.”
