Aveda Light the Way Candles Shine a Light for a Brighter Future

While lighting a candle may seem like a simple gesture, throughout April 2015— known as Earth Month here at Aveda—it will do far more than set a mood or scent our rooms. It will help change lives.

During these 30 days Aveda donates 100% of the purchase price of our limited edition Earth Month Light the Way Candles™ (based on $12 SRP) to Global Greengrants Fund, a non-profit organization that channels high-impact grants to grassroots groups working to solve pressing environmental problems. Since 2006, Aveda has raised $9 million through sales of our wonderfully-scented votives.

While $12 may not seem like a princely sum, a Light the Way™ Candle purchase can make all the difference in the world to someone living without clean water. In fact, that one purchase can provide one years’ worth of drinking water for a person living in Madagascar.* This year, the images on the Light the Way™ candle carton were created by children living in the region of Manakara, Madagascar, who benefited from Earth Month funded water projects.

 

2015 Light the Way™ Candles will captivate the senses and spark the imagination with a new pure flower and plant aroma from 100% certified organic essential oils, including certified organic vanilla, cinnamon and ylang ylang from Madagascar. Each candle is made from 100% naturally-derived soy and plant waxes that burn cleanly and completely, infusing the air with over 27 hours of rich, spicy scent. As the heady aroma and flickering flame transports you to far off lands, you can rest assured the people inhabiting them have clean water.
