A fresh face is highlighted by beautifully intense eyes

There’s nothing quite like gorgeous skin and smoldering eyes. We love both and are thrilled they take center stage in our upcoming fall collection Fōklôr, a spirited celebration of color, texture, bohemia and beautiful artistry. Janell Geason, Aveda Global Artistic Director for Makeup, created the stunning Risør Rose look (seen here) that is as effortlessly fresh as it is hypnotizing.

Building on a romantic intensity with a rare shade of rose that personifies travel and a heart of kindness, Risør Rose’s highpoint comes in the way of the effervescent, decorated lids.

Here, Janell shares how to get the look:
Complexion
1 “Good skin care is a must for the look of glowing skin,” Geason says. “To prep I start with our new Botanical Kinetics™ Hydrating Treatment Lotion. It’s a lightweight, yet powerful lotion that will help to instantly hydrate skin and prepare it to absorb the benefits of your favorite moisturizer.”
2 With skin prepped, next up is to create a luminous, radiant complexion by applying Inner Light™ Mineral Tinted Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 15 with the blush brush and Inner Light™ Concealer where needed, then set lightly with Inner Light™ Mineral Loose Powder.

Eyes 3 Using an Eye Contour Brush, apply Petal Essence™ Single Eye Color in Chia to the inner and outer corners of the eyes. 4 Apply Petal Essence™ Single Eye Color in Chia along the outer two-thirds of the bottom lash lines with the Medium Eye Color Brush. 5 Apply Petal Essence™ Single Eye Color in Rose Quartz to the centers of the lids with the Medium Eye Color Brush, diffusing it into the Chia shade. 6 Apply Petal Essence™ Single Eye Color in Rose Quartz to the inner top and bottom corners of the eyes with the Medium Eye Color Brush. 7 Encircle the eyes with Petal Essence™ Eye Definer in Black Orchid, winging out slightly at the outer corners of the top lash lines, and diffuse with the Eye Smudger Brush. Apply the same shade along the inner rims of the eyes.
Lashes & Brows 8 Curl lashes, and brush Mosscara™ in Black Forest onto top and bottom lashes. 9 If needed, fill in the brows by applying the appropriate shade of Petal Essence™ Eye Color Trio in Gobi Sands.

Cheeks 10 Create a light flush by applying Petal Essence™ Face Accents in Tesserae along cheekbones with the blush brush.
Lips 11 Apply Nourish-Mint™ Smoothing Lip Color in Prim Rose.
