Start The New Year Looking Your Best #AvedaHowTo

Aveda New Years Eve Looks to Try

Aveda New Years Eve
With its much-hyped reputation and glittery, festive feel, there's no holiday better for experimenting with your beauty look than New Year's Eve! We love trying out new beauty styles for our NYE parties, so this year we've rounded up a few of our favorites for ringing in the new year!
First up, a mussed but mesmerizing side braid paired with striking red lips. This look will give you a modern style for any festive celebration:
FOR THE HAIR:
  1. Spritz hair with Aveda brilliant damage control, the perfect foundation for any hair style. This spray is a great pre-styling tool that will protect your hair from the dangers of combing, heat styling and sun damage.
  2. Blow dry hair, tousling with your hands to help enhance the natural texture.
  3. Emulsify Aveda control paste in your hand and work through dry hair with your fingertips. Control paste will give your hair a high-textured low-sheen look with a matte finish that isn't sticky.
  4. Pull hair to one side, leaving out a few stray pieces to frame the face.
  5. To create a fishtail braid, part the hair into two equal sections. Grab a small piece from underneath one of the sections and cross diagonally over the hair, adding it to the opposite section.
  6. Continue to cross pieces loosely over one another down the length of the hair to form the braid.
  7. Stop two or three inches from the end of the strands and secure with a clear hair elastic.

FOR THE FACE:
  1. Line lips with Aveda nourish-mint lip definer, a colorless pencil that will smooth and define the lips.
  2. Apply Aveda uruku lip pigment in maracuja, a rich, deep red with a golden sheen. Blot well and then apply a second layer of lipstick. Blot again for a matte finish.
  3. Curl lashes and swipe with Aveda black forest mosscara to complete the look.
